BK135228 AC Cobra
The Truth Behind The Anglo-American Legend

The legendary AC Cobra is one of the worlds ultimate no-compromise sports cars. Originally derived from the AC Ace, the brutal Cobra was the result of Carroll Shelbys dream to combine British chassis expertise with the easily available power of a large-capacity American V8 engine.
Forty years on from its debut, this much imitated car is revered the world over, and original examples have become highly sought-after. This beautifully produced commemorative book will appeal to all sports car fans as well as to Cobra enthusiasts.

BK144657 KEN MILES
Remebered

Ken Miles follows his life from the early days in England to his tragic death at Riverside Raceway in 1966. Essentially a scrapbook, more than 130 photographs are included. Many are from private collections and have never before been published. A fascinating feature is remembrances written by some who knew Miles best, like Carroll Shelby, Augie Pabst, John Morton, Bill Pollack and Ken's son, Peter. Miles himself was an accomplished writer and a few articles he wrote are reprinted. The book starts off with a complete chronology from birth to death and ends with the eulogy delivered by the authors father and a never-before assembled race record. Miles second-place finish at the 1966 Le Mans was mired in controversy. This book goes some distance toward clarification. Interspersed throughout are articles from period publications. The scrapbook is held together with text by the author, a close friend of Miles and his family.

BK140552 COBRA
The First 40 Years

Trevor Legate covers the Cobra like no other author and photographer, and in this major new work he gives Cobra aficionados and motoring enthusiasts the ultimate look at this classic car. With over 280 photographs, many never before published, this book brilliantly unfolds the story of the Shelby AC Cobra from its launch in 1962, to the end of production in 1968, to the unstoppable cars reappearance in the "replica" kit-car market. Whether detailing the first glorious road cars or chronicling the superbly muscled race cars-including the Daytona Cobra coupes that contested the FIA World Championship-whether delving into the Cobras history or describing the advent of Autokraft and the AC Cobra Mk IV, Legate provides every angle on the incomparable Cobra and its lasting legacy.

Remembering the Shelby Years
1962-1969

Perhaps no other automobile has captured the imagination of motoring enthusiasts, racers and the general public as has the Shelby American Cobra. Today, forty-some years later, the powerful Cobra continues to be the most widely-recognized and replicated automobile of all time. While it has been the subject of many books, the whole truth has never been told, according to Carroll Shelby, until now

BK137221 SNAKE BIT
Carroll Shelby's Controversial Series1 Sports Car

What Carroll Shelby wanted was a 2,400-pound sports car sheathed in carbon fiber that was the fastest road car in the world. What he got was quite a different matter! The Series 1 was one of the most highly anticipated sports cars in living memory. It was a magazine cover story seven times and countless more articles were written about it. The car was eventually produced early in 2000-but it reached its owners well behind schedule, at a higher price, and in smaller numbers than first projected. The story of the Shelby Series 1 "is about everything that could possibly go wrong and then did." Its a drama of gigantic and aspiring egos, petty prerogatives, awesome talent, bureaucratic bungling, and brilliant engineering. Of the many cars Shelby created over his career, none was as controversial as the Series 1. Snake Bit - an apt description of what happened to anyone and everyone involved in the project - is required and captivating reading for the thousands of Carroll Shelby fans throughout the world.
