World Spotscar Championship
Review 1987
The Jaguar team was determined to secure victory in the 1987
World Sportscar Championship, and put the nightmare of the previous season
behind them. This action-packed review features dramatic highlights and
interviews with the stars to bring you the full story of how the Cat
roared back. This DVD delivers race action from all 10 rounds of the 1987
championship, from the opening rounds in Spain to the final weekend in
Japan, visiting Silverstone, Brands Hatch,
Spa and the legendary Le Mans 24 Hours
along the way. Exceptional camera positions, qualifying coverage plus
access to the pitlanes, drivers and team bosses ensure you don't miss any
vital moments from the C1 or C2 title-chases The 1987 field boasted an impressive line up of driving stars,
including sportscar greats Derek Bell, Raul Boesel, Hans Stuck,
Jochen Mass and John Nielsen, plus Grand Prix
stars past, present and future, such as Eddie Cheever, John
Watson, Jonathan Palmer and more. The once-dominant Rothmans Porsche team would see its turbo-charged
962Cs humiliated by the Tom Walkinshaw-prepared V12 XJR-8 Jags, with the
British marque securing victory in all but two of the season's races.
Jaguar may have left the others behind, but that didn't mean the racing
wasn't dramatic! Among the highlights on this DVD are the 1.6 second
victory margin in the opening race, the rain-hit Monza round, the Belgium
deluge and many more. This review is the essential record of the history-making 1987 World
Sportscar Championship season, when Jaguar once again ruled the World.

World Spotscar Championship
Review 1989
Sauber-Mercedes was the team to beat in the 1989 World Sportscar
Championship, the mighty Silver Arrows overshadowing rivals Jaguar,
Porsche, Nissan and Toyota throughout the battle for the prototype title.
This action-packed review features dramatic highlights and interviews with
the stars bringing you the full story of the season. Exceptional action
footage, including some in-car sequences, from all eight rounds charts the
incredible performance of the unstoppable Sauber-Mercedes C9 from the
opening race in Japan to the title-deciding final round in Mexico.
Experience the speed, drama, controversy and nail-biting finale from one
of the most memorable seasons of racing. The Sauber-Mercedes assault was led by Jean-Louis Schlesser, Jochen
Mass, Mauro Baldi and Kenny Acheson, while
driving greats including Jan Lammers, Bob Wollek, Julian Bailey,
Mark Blundell were also out for victory during the 1989 season. The arrival of Jaguar's new turbo-charged XJR-11, a strong field of
privately-entered Porsches and Japanese competition from Toyota and Nissan
posed occasional challenges to Sauber-Mercedes' dominance, but the silver cars
were almost in a class of their own. While the destination of the team
title was a foregone conclusion from the opening round, the battle for the
driver's crown remained an intense fight between Schlesser and Baldi right
down to the very last race - where a massive collision decided the outcome.
All eyes were on Sauber-Mercedes, but this review also highlights the Joest
team's heroics, the awesome Spice performance at Donington and the flashes
of brilliance from Jaguar's drivers. This comprehensive review is an essential record of an important year
for sportscar racing, as well as an action-packed journey through an
awesome season of racing.
